Stephanie McCown and Roger Hogan were married. It was beautiful. I stood at their ceremony remembering the days when no one would have imagined this moment. At the age of 16 Stephanie was in a horrific car wreck and reports were that it was fatal. I rushed to the hospital hearing she’d be DOA and her father Joe and I arrived at the emergency room at the very same time. She was alive but went to the edge many times over the next few weeks. Her mother Ann, a nurse herself, stood by her with a tenacity only a mother can provide. No hope was ever given that Stephanie would regain motor skills, brain function, or much of a life after that. The months and years for her recovery has been long. Yet she graduated high school, is now graduating from college and yesterday, she walked down an aisle in a gorgeous dress designed by her sister. What a story! I saw a miracle….and I wish them many more in their life journey together!
